Simplot receives Energy Star award

MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Simplot plant's energy conservation is being honored Thursday during a special ceremony at the company.

An Energy Star flag is raised at the event.

The potato processing plant is being honored because of its work through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star program.

Simplot's Othello plant received the Energy Star award for the second consecutive year.

"After achieving and then maintaining our Energy Star status in Othello, we challenged ourselves to get our Moses Lake facility to the same level, and we were able to accomplish that through a lot of hard work and commitment by the entire Moses Lake team," commented David Hines, regional unit director for both plants.
