New Coulee Corridor brochure released

MOSES LAKE - For a fun summer drive, there are 64 historic stops along the Coulee Corridor National Scenic Byway route from Omak to Connell.

Old cemeteries, murals, and Grand Coulee Dam are found along the route.

To make it easier, someone has already mapped out the stops. They are listed inside the newly released "People and Places of the Coulee Corridor National Scenic Byway."

Mark Amara, a Coulee Consortium member, provided text and photographs for the brochure. 

He came up with the sites by researching and looking for places that might be open to the public, were visible and offered history.

"There's a lot out there to learn and enjoy," Amara said.

The finished product features 64 sites along the byway, including some spur and loop routes along the main road.

He heard positive comments about the publication, of which there were 10,000 copies printed.

He is hoping there will be enough interest that a second edition could be released someday.
