| June 24, 2011 6:00 AM

Ava Maria Foster Balzotti Lublin, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in Orem, Utah on Monday, June 13, 2011 after spending Sunday with many of her family members. She was 91 years old.

Ava was born on January 25, 1920 in Kettle Falls, Washington to Lester Leroy Foster and Myrtle "Bobbie" (Weddle) Foster. She married Michael Balzotti June 16, 1946 (deceased) and later Blaine Lublin (deceased) in December 1961.

She attended the University of Washington, and worked as a General's secretary during WWll in the Seattle office where she met Michael Balzotti.

Ava was a true and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and her testimony and the gospel of Jesus Christ meant everything to her. She cherished the scriptures and loved the temple. She devotedly served in her many callings in the church. She would always arrive to youth activities from Primary to Young Women's to Seminary with a car overflowing with children. She was an excellent, well-prepared teacher who taught with love and the Spirit. Ava was a living example of service. Service and sacrifice for others was engrained in her very character. She truly loved her neighbor as she cared for many who were in need. She was a gracious lady in thought and action. She loved life and saw beauty in everything around her.

Her greatest joy was being a mother, an eternal role she fulfilled with love and courage. Her children love her and appreciate the many principles and values she faithfully taught them. She cherished visiting and caring for her grandchildren. Her grandchildren have been inspired by her faith and example.

Ava had an eye for beauty and she instilled her love of music and art in her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing, ceramics, cooking, and collecting recipes and notable quotes. She was often asked to decorate her church for weddings and church activities which she did beautifully.

Ava leaves behind a legacy of testimony, service, and love of all things beautiful in this world. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by four children: Michael (Janice) Balzotti, Mark (Deborah) Balzotti, Donna (Peter) Akemann, and Lori (Robert) Gleave, 21 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cedar Hills 1st Ward Chapel (4245 W. Cedar Hills Dr.) Friends can call from 10:00-10:50 a.m. in the RS Room prior to the service. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
