CRESCENT BAR - Organizer Karen Wirta has announced that the theme of the 2011 Crescent Bar Fourth of July Parade will be "Our American Heroes."

The entire Fourth of July celebration will be held on July 3. The fireworks show will be held after dark.

According to Wirta, the best way to ensure everyone has the best opportunity to see the entire show is to have it all on the same day.

"Since the Fourth falls on a Monday, some people will be leaving that afternoon," she said.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and wind its way through several of the North Park streets. Staging will begin at 9 a.m. at the firehouse, which is located near the public beach on the east channel.

"If you want to be judged, please register and receive an entry number before 9:30. There will be treats and awards for the participants back at the firehouse after the parade."

The prizes will be for Judges Award (best representation of the theme), best golf car (decorated), best car/truck/boat, best costume, best float (towed by golf car, car or truck), best bicycle/tricycle, stroller/toy car/skates and best display of patriotism.
