Reader appreciates community's support

In October, we had the Relay for Life Kick Off. Anticipating a possible off year because of the economy we still set our goals, continued our planning, met monthly with team captains, and hit the track at Moses Lake High School on June 3 for a 24 hour experience. Obviously, the folks in Moses Lake who have family/friends who have/had cancer were not worried about the state of the economy. I'm excited to report that Relay raised over $134,000, saw 970 participants, and welcomed 170 survivors all passionate about finding a cure and supporting the American Cancer Society. Thank you Moses Lake!

Thank you especially to, Michael's on the Lake, ML Rental, Samaritan Healthcare, Columbia Colstor, Genie, REC, Dano Darlings, Akzonobel, ML Assembly of God Church, First Presbyterian Church, Eagles, Takata, Northland Communications, Key Bank, Hospice, Big Bend Community College, Columbia Basin Herald, Moses Lake Lions, Maurices, Moses Lake Clinic, Moses Lake Eagles, Team Nissan, DSHS, Moses Lake Lioness, Third and Alder Salon, Papa John's Pizza, Free Beer Nuts, Cookin' Up A Cure, City of Moses Lake, Nightscare Productions, UPS, Walmart, TEAM RELIV, Bank of America, and Tom Willner Music. When you have a chance please thank these fine businesses for their support.

Furthermore, the Moses Lake School District Transportation Department, Frontier Middle School and Moses Lake High School all had full teams.

Individual family teams included; Anderson Family, Geeks-n-Sneaks, Team Paula, For the Kids, Remembering Our Blessings, John Yates Family, Gilbert Reyes Family, Fancher Family, The Brainiacs, Tebow/Weaver/White Family, Beach Bums, Disney Walkers, Inspirational Hope, and the Coulee City crew.

As you can see teams represent a diverse group of people. Somewhere in here YOU fit. I hope to see you on the track in 2012! Check out www.relayforlife.org/moseslakewa for current totals, make donations, and find information about next year's event.
