Some garden lots still open

ROYAL CITY - Royal City community garden chairwoman Sharon Chesterman reports there are still open plots as the growing season starts to heat up.

The community garden is twenty 12-foot-by-12-foot plots that any resident can use for a family garden. A drip irrigation system is in place. All that's needed is some tilling and seed.

"There's fertilizer in the shed for you to use. The water is currently set to come on for 20 minutes at midnight, 4 a.m. and 8 a.m.," Chesterman said.
