ROYAL CITY - There is a sparkling new "Welcome" sign at the main entrance to Royal City, and residents and visitors can thank Jackson Noftle and the SHOC organization.

SHOC (Strengthening the Heart of Our Community) and Noftle had the assistance of a $2,500 community grant from Northwest Farm Credit Services and Graybeal Signs of Wenatchee.

"They designed the logo and sign," said Farrah Wardenaar of the SHOC group.

The new welcome sign was an Eagle Scout project for the 15-year-old Noftle. It is at Royal Ave. and Highway 26.

Other individuals, organizations or businesses that assisted include US Bank, Desert Rain Irrigation, Bob & Maggie Nielson, Mianecki Family Farm, Nelson Faria Dairy, Dan & Rose Search, Jim & Karen Huntzinger, the Kenneth G. Murphy family, the Lee family, Saddle Mountain Farm Supply, the Callahan family, the Allred family, Gary & Cathy Potter, City Attorney James Whitaker, Sunray Farms, Weyns Farms, Ferguson Concrete, Sunburst Orchards, Royal Fire Dept. and Royal City Lions Club.
