A triathlon and two long distance runs - 10 and 5K - are planned for this Saturday as BuDu Racing brings another competition, like the one above, to the Columbia Basin.

MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Family Triathlon and Moses Lake Police Run for your Life 5K and 10K runs are set for Saturday at Blue Heron Park, the second event held by BuDu Racing in the past couple weeks here in the Columbia Basin.

Two weeks ago, BuDu held the Spring Festival Runs and Duathlon (results below).

The Olympic distance triathlon starts at 8 a.m. with the swim and continues with a bike and running race. All runs head across the bridge and on to the trails across the lake from the park.

A Spring and Family Triathlon starts at 10 and 10:20 a.m..

For more rules and information on the triathlon please check out www.BuDuRacing.com, http://www.buduracing.com/pdf/budu%20racing%20events%20instructions%20for%20participants%20moses%20lake%202011.pdf, or email info@BuDuRacing.com.

BuDu Racing started when Rory Muller was laid off as an employee at Boeing in 2002.

Muller had competed in triathlons in his earlier days, and then went to cycling, which gave him an idea of what he wanted to do next - promote events.

Before this happened, Rory and his wife Deanna completed in Duathlons, with their daughter Jenna watching from a playpen in the transition area.

They always joked that they would do a Boo (Jenna's nickname) DU, where Deanna would push Jenna in the jogger, transfer her to the bike trailer with Rory, and finish the run with Jenna again in the jogger.

This never did happen, but the name BuDu racing was born.

BuDu Racing promotes many multi-sport events, 20+ road cycling events and six mountain bike events. They also chip time their own events as well as, over 50 other events during the year.

"We first timed the Moses Lake Family Tri and then the Parks Department asked us to take it over," Rory Muller said. "After that they were asked to take over the fun run as well. BuDu Racing enjoys working with the great community in Moses Lake."

THIS JUST IN!

Now that last week's final results have been confirmed, here are the top finishers in the various competitions. Hometowns are listed as provided.
