Melvin R. Kuch

Melvin R. Kuch of Moses Lake died May 21, 2011 in Spokane. He was 72. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 11th at the Assembly of God Church, 431 E. Brown, Moses Lake. Melvin was born October 4, 1938 in Odessa to Richard and Anna Kuch. He grew up on the family farm north of Odessa and graduated from Odessa High in 1957. He attended Bible College in Kirkland before returning home to farm.

He married Faye Wilson of Grand Coulee and settled on the family cattle ranch in Marlin. They had three boys. After Faye's death, he married Ina Jean who was killed in an auto accident after a short time. On April 16, 1983, he married Phyllis Vernwald. Phyllis, had two daughters and a son that they continued to raise together. He ranched in Marlin until shortly before his death.

Melvin loved his family, his grandkids and great grandkids. He was a kind, gentle man who loved people and always reached out to those who needed a friend. He loved the Marlin area and its people. He was always involved in the churches he attended through the years. He loved the Lord and held a deep Christian faith, which he shared with others.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 28 years, Phyllis Kuch, Moses Lake; mother-in-law Myrtle Nash; sister Linda (Richard) Dymond, Spokane; brother Paul (Linda) Kuch, Odessa; son Bill and wife Christina Kuch, Marlin; daughters, Carol (Bruce) Nash, Ilene (Tyronne) Middleton; son David Vernwald; one uncle, Bob (Norma) Kuch; seventeen grandkids and five great grandkids; ten nieces and nephews.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Anna Kuch, his wives, Faye and Ina Jean, his father-in-law, Clayton Nash, his sons, Rick and Dan and his grandson Kameron.
