May 28 women's day features Linda Hayes

CRESCENT BAR - May 28 was Linda Hayes Day in women's club play at Crescent Bar Golf course. Her name came up four times at the awards announcements.

Hayes posted the low gross score (108) and low net score (69) in Division 1. She had a chip-in on hole No. 2. She was also the game of the day winner for her division.

The game of the day was the score on three holes selected blindly before the start of play minus one-third handicap.

Jan Harris was a double winner. She took first division low net with 73. She was the game of the day winner in the same division.

Mavis Bennett was the first division gross winner with 104. The long putt winners were Marian Lucas in the first division (3-8) and Margaret Linder in the second division (11-2.5).

The closest-to-the hole winners were Wilma Deleeuw in the first division and Lyn Murray in the second division. They had nearly identical shots of 25-6 and 24-5 respectively.
