Informational plaques were stolen, above, and the steel horses damaged by graffiti, below, at the sculpture "Grandpa Cut Loose the Ponies," near Vantage.

VANTAGE - Vandalism mars the sculpture, "Grandfather Cuts Loose the Ponies," along Interstate 90 near Vantage.

Two descriptive plaques were stolen from the viewpoint and vandals spray painted graffiti on the steel horses.

Othello resident Eduardo Vinas stated he was upset about the damage.

"The place has an awesome panoramic view of the Wanapum Lake and the horses are intriguing but it's frustrating to find them this way," Vinas stated.

People with information about the thefts or damage are asked to call the Grant County Sheriff's Office at 9-1-1 or 509-754-2011.
