MOSES LAKE - Lowe's Home Improvement employees came to the Chief Moses Middle School science class.

Mrs. Stokker and Stephanie, Lowe's workers, brought Build and Grow construction kits to make sports pinball. They also brought all the supplies like hammers, aprons, goggles and nails.

"I would love to share this project with my brother, Nazari, because he loves to play pinball," Alina Tsymbalyk said.

"I liked when we built the game," Maddie Hesse said.

"I think it was nice that they took the time to come to our school and teach us how to build," added Jessica Olson.

Mrs. Stokker said of the students while they were building their Learn and Grow projects.

"I loved seeing kids use math and science together."

Mrs. Frederick totally agrees.

Stephanie helped kids to build. When they needed help with the tools, she was always there with the answer.

"I loved the project that we did in science and I would like to go to Lowe's and build more of their projects," Yuliya Lovyn said,

Lowe's holds the free Learn and Grow Clinics every other Saturday at 10 a.m. for children ages 3 to 12 and a parent. Children get to keep the projects and all materials are provided as a community service.

Teachers like Kelly Frederick appreciate the opportunity that Lowe's gives children to use science, technology, engineering and math skills which benefit their learning and career choices.
