ARDELL PAVILION Reader wants 4-H/FFA given chance for use

| June 3, 2011 6:00 AM

I was reading in the Business Journal that there have been some complaints about the pavilion use. I want to know what is being done about this issue. I completely understand that the pavilion should definitely be made available to paying patrons and gain revenue from its use. There does, however, need to be some sort of agreement made. While I feel that the pavilion should be rented out, the pavilion should also be made available to 4-H/FFA groups when not being rented out. There are not a lot of facilities in the area that allow for indoor practice. The pavilion is really the only place. There are many times when the kids get to fair and their animals "freak out" because there is a strange shadow in the pavilion; this can be fixed by allowing 4-H/FFA members the ability to use the pavilion in the summer months as well. I don't think that anyone group needs to be given privilege over another. However, there needs to be a compromise. The fairgrounds needs to remember that the 4-H/FFA kids are a big priority to the livelihood of the fair and we need to come up with a solution that keeps everyone happy!
