GEORGE - Grant County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a Saturday night drive-by shooting in George.

Details regarding the incident are unclear, Sheriff Tom Jones told the Columbia Basin Herald on Tuesday.

It appears the shooting is connected to a fight occurring at around 11:30 p.m. at the George City Park Saturday.

Approximately 10 people were involved in the fight, both males and females ranging in age from their late teens to mid-twenties, Jones said. After the fight, a male and female were reportedly driven by private vehicle to Quincy Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Around the same time, a home on East Montmorency Boulevard in George was struck by bullets during a drive-by shooting.

An unknown number of children and teenagers were at the residence at the time of the shooting. They were associates of the individuals being driven to the hospital, Jones said; adding no one was injured by the shooting.

Deputies recovered bullet casings and found bullet holes in the exterior of the residence.

There were no arrests and police are working to identify a possible shooter, Jones said.

Investigators are not yet certain if the incident is gang related.
