Home Depot helps Ephrata Senior Center

EPHRATA - Employees of the Moses Lake Home Depot rolled up their sleeves Wednesday to help out the Ephrata Senior Center.
Nine Home Depot employees volunteered their time to renovate the senior center's walk-in refrigerator and to build raised gardening beds for a community garden.
The construction projects are sponsored by Team Depot, part of Home Depot's community service efforts.
The Home Depot donated approximately $2,000 in supplies for the project, including a compost barrel for the new community garden, said Jason Madigan, Team Depot captain for the senior center project.
The projects will take about three days to complete, he said.
"There's no words for it. It's just fantastic," said Carol Hampton, president of the senior center board.
The senior center is in dire financial straits, she said, and couldn't have done the construction projects without Home Depot's help.
People interested in applying for Team Depot's help can get more information at a Home Depot store, said Madigan.
Home Depot's website states that support can only be provided to registered 501(c)(3) charitable organizations, public schools, local fire or police departments, or city services like the Parks and Recreation Department and cannot be provided to individuals.
