Golf results in for Kiwanis, Rotary

MOSES LAKE - The Kiwanis Club of Moses Lake & Rotary Club of Moses Lake golf tournament raised approximately $9,200 this past weekend during its scramble event held at the Moses Lake Golf Club.

The tournament, held on July 15, brought in approximately $5,200 will go toward Rotary while the rest goes to Kiwanis.

The split is based upon the percentage of sponsors and teams brought in by each club. Each club will use their income toward a commitment to a new clubhouse.

On top of all that there were some winners to celebrate as well.

First place low gross went to the Les Schwab Tire team of  Justin Matzen, Rod Duke, Steve Slack, and M. Willoughby (as signed in), who shot a 63, beating out Lake Bowl by one-stroke and the third-place team of Odom Corporation.

The winner of the low net competition was the Lost Faculties foursome of Dave Balcom, Linda McKay, Chris Lupo, and Michelle Price, who recorded a 53.2. Discovery Ford & Honda took second, while Kim Ries Ashley P.S... ended up in third place.

Taking the longest drive competitions were Kandi Bersanti (women) and Trevor Bevier (men) and taking longest putt honors were Kim Ries Ashley (women) and Sam Thornton (men).

Capturing KP honors were Linda McKay (women) and Mike Morse (men).
