Arizona moves on to face Chicago

SPOKANEĀ - The Shock were defeated Friday night by the Arizona Rattlers, 62-33 bringing the 2011 season to a close for Spokane.

Both teams' offenses struggled in the first half combining for five turnovers. Spokane's first drive of the game ended with a turnover, but the Shock defense quickly returned the favor forcing a fumble that was recovered by Shock DB Terrance Sanders.

Spokane's offense capitalized on the turnover with a 21-yard touchdown completion from QB Kyle Rowley to WR Randy Hymes and gave the Shock an early seven-point lead. Arizona quickly regrouped scoring two straight touchdowns and went into halftime with a 21-13 lead.

On the first drive of the second half, Spokane's defense stopped Arizona's offense with an interception by DB Ruschard Dodd-Masters. Rowley and the Shock offense capitalized on the turnover with another touchdown pass to Hymes and cut Arizona's lead to just one point, 21-20.

Arizona's offense came back quickly and scored two consecutive touchdowns and put Spokane in a 15-point hole, 35-20. The Rattlers' defense continued to pick up steam and pulled away in the fourth quarter with two interceptions, both of which were returned for touchdowns.

Rowley finished the night with 210 passing yards and four touchdowns. Davila also finished the game with four touchdowns and added 167 passing yards.

Spokane's Hymes led the receiving corps with 12 receptions for 110 yards with two touchdowns. WR Greg Orton also chipped with eight receptions for 104 yards and led the team with three touchdowns. Davila's receiving corps was led by Kerry Reed who had six receptions, including two for touchdowns.

Defensively, LB Antwan Marsh finished the game with a forced fumble and an interception, while Dodd-Masters lead the team in tackles (six).

Next weekend, Arizona will host the Chicago Rush for the National Conference Championship.
