Riddle, Lennon, Quealey, Bennett first in Sadie Hawkins golf event

CRESCENT BAR - Jerry Riddle, Candy Lennon, Jack Quealey and Mavis Bennett combined their talents to score 87 and win the annual Sadie Hawkins Day hosted by the women's club at the Crescent Bar Golf Course on July 12.

For Sadie Hawkins Day, each of the participating women invites a male player. Regular golf is played. There is gross and net scoring for individual play and gross scoring for team play.

In team play, second place went to Tom Harris, Jan Harris, Carol Prinzen and Wes Prinzen with 95.

Third place ended in a tie with a score of 96. The teams were Larry Aliment, Tressa Kleyn, Frank Lane and Laurie Leahy and Don DeMuth, Wilma DeLeeuw, Lyn Murray and Roy Murray.

In individual play, the winning gross score for men was 81 by Riddle. Bennett had the low gross score of 95 for the women.

In net scoring, three men tied for first with 65. They were Prinzen, Aliment and Riddle. Bennett had a low net of 67 for the women.

In special games, women's closest-to-the-pin went to Eileen Hoene on hole No. 5 with a tee shot that finished 7-5 from the hole. Tom Harris won for the men with an effort of 11-3 on hole No. 3.

Long putt for the women was an effort of 13-9 by Mary Woolverton on hole No. 9. Quealey won for the men with a shot of 9-9.5 on Hole No. 2.

Carol Prinzen won long drive for the women. Tom Harris won long drive for the men.

Three women scored chip-ins, Woolverton on No. 10, DeLeeuw on No. 2, and Bennett on No. 9.
