Man stabbed in head with screwdriver

MOSES LAKE - David B. Vanbouchaute, 25, Moses Lake, was arrested for the stabbing of a 38-year-old Moses Lake man Sunday.

A woman called police early Sunday afternoon to report her boyfriend had been stabbed in the head with a screwdriver during an altercation at a home just outside city limits on North Stratford Road, according to Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.

Sheriff's Officers contacted the victim at Samaritan Hospital, where he was being treated. The woman reportedly told officers she knew the suspect, who had arrived in a black Pontiac Trans Am driven by another individual. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

Vanbouchaute was located and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released from Samaritan.

An investigation is ongoing, Jones said.
