Asencion "David" "Chon" Guzman, 82, longtime Moses Lake resident went to our Lord on July 19, 2011 in Columbia Crest Care and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on August 15, 1928 in Taft, Texas to Francisco and Adela (Martinez) Guzman.

He is preceded in death by three sons: George, Asencion, Jr. and Mike Guzman; siblings Agustina and Tindo; and his parents Francisco and Adela (Martinez) Guzman.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 65 years Mary B. Guzman, five children: Charlie (Celia) Gloria Martinez, Robert Guzman all of Moses Lake, Linda Roybal and Annette White, both of Yakima; brothers Nacho and Silvas Guzman.

Asencion "David" "Chon" brought his family to Moses Lake in 1960 initially moving to Westlake.

He diligently worked for various agricultural-based employers to support his family of eight. His passions included fishing, barbecue's, playing his harmonica, and especially playing practical jokes on his family and friends; although his first and most important priority was always his family. In his 82 years, he created many wonderful memories with his very special family and countless friends.

Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to El Sendero de la Cruz, Pastor Mike Alvarado, Central Basin Home Health and Hospice, Carver Family Funeral Home and the staff at Columbia Crest Care and Rehabilitation Center.

God Bless You husband, father and grandfather. We'll miss you.

A Celebration of Asencion's life will be Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in El Sendero de la Cruz, 2227 W. Peninsula Dr., Moses Lake, with Pastor Mike Alvarado officiating. The services will conclude at the church.

Asencion's family has asked Carver Family Funeral Home to care for final arrangements.
