MOSES LAKE - Children from all over the Northwest competed for a buckle at the Moses Lake Junior Rodeo Saturday and Sunday.

The annual event is in its 14th year at the Grant County Fairgrounds rodeo arena and hosted roughly 200 contestants from Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Canada.

"The weather was great and all the kids had a great time here in Moses Lake," Lynette McMillan stated. "It has become one of the largest junior rodeos in the state and a favorite of the contestants."

First place winners in every event received a Tres Rios buckle for their efforts and another was given to 2011 Moses Lake Junior Rodeo Queen Kayla Huber, of Warden, in thanks for her help during the event.

McMillan stated many participants from Grant County shined during the two-day competition.
