Strong-armed robbery reported

| July 13, 2011 6:00 AM

GEORGE - The Grant County Sheriff's Office is searching for two men who allegedly committed a strong-armed robbery here in the early morning hours of July 3.

However, the information about a possible crime is sketchy. One of the alleged victims is unknown and the other has not been "fully cooperative" with deputies.

The incident occurred around 2:10 a.m. in the 100 block of W. Montgomery Blvd, according to Deputy Ryan Rectenwald. Fermin Ramirez, 31, of George, said he was sitting in a parked car with the second (unidentified) victim when they were confronted by two men with a shotgun and a wallet was stolen.

According to Rectenwald, Ramirez said the assailants drove up in a light-colored four-door Honda. He said the shotgun was fired once and that the unidentified victim may have been hit.

Rectenwald said there was no evidence a shotgun was fired. He said local hospitals were checked, and no one was admitted with gunshot injuries.

The Sheriff's office is looking for two Hispanic males. One is inĀ  his early 20s, with a heavy build and wears baggy clothing. The other is in his late teens, smaller, of dark complexion, with a mustache. The Honda may be a 1998 or 1999 model.
