Moses Lake laundromat fire quickly doused
Firefighters asses the roof of a Moses Lake Laundromat after putting out a fire at the building Wednesday.
MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Fire Department quickly extinguished a small fire Wednesday night at General Laundry.
The business is located at 406 E Broadway.
Two engines and a medical unit responded to reports of flames and smoke rising from the building's roof, Moses Lake Fire Chief Tom Taylor said.
Several apartments are located above the business, and Taylor said a container located on the roof outside the window of one dwelling apparently ignited. The exact cause of the fire is not yet known, but Taylor said it may have been related to a cigarette.
There was no smoke damage to the building but the fire did melt some window blinds, Taylor said.
