Myrna Kathleen Coyle Corbett, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from complications due to pneumonia. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, July 8th at the Moses Lake First Presbyterian Church at 3:30 pm. Burial will be at Terrace Heights Cemetery in Yakima at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 9th. Please sign the online guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory.

Myrna was born in Walla Walla, WA on November 7, 1929. She graduated from Yakima High School in 1947 and Yakima Junior College in 1949 with Phi Theta Kappa honors. From there Myrna attended the University of Washington graduating in 1951 with a degree in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude. Myrna was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honorary Scholastic society and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

Myrna married Donald A. Corbett, Sr. of Yakima in 1951. Together they had two children, Donald A. Corbett, Jr. (Lex) of Scottsdale AZ, and Mary Elizabeth-Corbett Graham of Moses Lake. Myrna also leaves behind her "favorite" son in law Dr. Evan Michael Graham and two grandchildren, Allison Elizabeth and Alexandra Kathleen Graham. In addition she is survived by her sister Joan Coyle Clodius of Rockford Illinois, her husband Robert L. Clodius a niece Catherine, and a nephew Mark Clodius.

In Yakima Myrna was a member of Junior League, a charter member of the Yakima Tennis Club, a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church and the Yakima Holiday Club.

After moving to Seattle in 1964, Myrna began working at Seattle-First National Bank as a teller. As her degree was in business administration, she decided to further her career in the banking field. Myrna was the first female to apply to the management trainee program but was denied this opportunity because she was a woman. Fortunately things have changed greatly since that time. Myrna believed she was a forerunner in opening opportunities for women in later years. Myrna retired 27 years later in 1992 as a Vice President in the Government Banking Department from the Bank of America, which had absorbed Seattle First National Bank. She was well known in municipal finance circles.

Myrna moved to Moses Lake from Seattle in 1998 after her husband Donald passed away in 1996. Myrna made many friends in her neighborhood and also in her Jazzercise LITE classes. Every Tuesday and Thursday her Jazzercise friends would meet after class at McDonalds to visit and share and of course eat the mini candy bars she always provided. She will be missed by this wonderful group of friends. She will also be missed by her "Divine Petite Luscious Girlfriends" book club members. Myrna loved reading and most especially loved to read the Wall Street Journal, The Weekly and anything that had to do with finance. Myrna also enjoyed her small Bible group that met each week at the First Presbyterian church and very much enjoyed their leader. She loved attending the wonderful services on Sundays at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Eric Frey and Kurt McFarland and listening to the fantastic music and songs by the Praise/Worship team led by Paul Wagner.

Myrna was a strong, independent, hard working, inquisitive and intelligent woman who touched many lives. She was a good friend, a wonderful listener and a loving, supportive Mother. She gave of herself generously to her family and friends. She will be missed by many.

Many, many thanks to the loving, caring, compassionate staff at Samaritan Hospital. Enough cannot be said of the outstanding treatment and care that was given to Myrna and to her family during this difficult time. Also, special thanks to Dr. Marcus Kubosumi, Dr. John Wheaton and Paul Wagner. Their time given to Mother, their knowledge shared and their friendship demonstrated was special.

Charitable donations may be given to the BBCC Nursing Program, and Pastoral Care at First Presbyterian church.
