Royal Summerfest golf tournament slots still open

| July 6, 2011 6:00 AM

ROYAL CITY - Organizer Andrew Perkins announced on Friday that there are still open slots for the Royal City Summerfest Scramble golf tournament.

This tournament is played for support of the Royal Golf Course. It will be played with four-person teams, but individuals are encouraged to sign up. They will be grouped with other players.

The entry fee is $100 per team, Perkins noted, or $25 per individual.

In addition to tourney and riding cart fees, funds will be raised through a raffle. Several prizes have been donated to the cause.

A scramble held in the spring netted more than $1,500, Perkins said. It was used for office furniture for the community center, which is also the golf club house.

Funds from this tourney will be used to finish some of the exterior work on the community center-club house.

To sign up for the tournament you may call Perkins at 431-1023.
