Music, fireworks light up McCosh Park
The Ryan Larsen Band delivered their brand of contemporary country music to the crowd at McCosh Park on the Fourth of July as they awaited the fireworks show.
MOSES LAKE - A community barbecue, country music concert and fireworks drew people to McCosh Park to celebrate the Fourth of July on Monday.
The events were sponsored by the Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Department.
The Ryan Larsen Band, a contemporary country act voted best local band two years in a row by KREM 2's "Z Best of Spokane," rocked the crowd as they waited for fireworks to start.
George Kempf was drawn to the park to check out the free concert and the fireworks, he said.
"The music's very good," he said. "I think they're a good band."
This is his fourth year attending the fireworks display in Moses Lake, he said.
"It's been a very good display for the size of the town," he said. "I thought it was very good, they did a very good job."
Krystin Lybbert and Chris Cole came to the park for one-year-old daughter Kaydence Cole's first fireworks show, accompanied by Chris's little brother, Chuckie Cole, 8.
Both Lybbert and Cole are big country music fans, they said, and enjoyed listening to the Ryan Larsen band even though they hadn't heard of them before.
"I'm a big country fan!" Chuckie piped in enthusiastically.
The Ryan Larsen Band's performance was the start of a free summer concert series sponsored by the Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Department.
