Alma Maria Olson White

| July 2, 2011 3:00 AM

Alma Maria Olson White, a long time Grant County resident, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 with her daughter Alana by her side. During the Christmas season on December 27, 1924 Olaf and Elin Jarf-Olson lovingly welcomed home Alma. Alma grew up in Spraque, Manitoba Canada with seven supportive siblings. Deeply rooted in Scandinavian tradition. In 1951, she received her Registered Nursing degree in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her move to Moses Lake, Washington came in 1968 where she continued her passion for nursing. Through many years of working and building a life, Alma was immensely blessed with dear friends and family.

God gave her a caring heart and loving spirit, her calling card to all. As a volunteer for the Crisis Line, Alma touched the lives of many, indeed. She enjoyed traveling and socializing with friends at the Eagle Lodge, Son's of Norway and International Training in Communication. A love of reading led her to quite a few years of helping at the Immanuel Lutheran Church library. Alma was a loving and devoted mother to her four children, Carolyn Weaver of Ephrata, Alana Tebow of Moses Lake, Robert White of Henderson, Nevada and James White of Leavenworth. As well as eleven cherished grandchildren, and two beloved great grandsons.

We know she will be missed dearly on those snowbird trips to Arizona. A memorial will be celebrated on Sunday, July 10, at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Moses Lake, Washington. Please join us.
