Three gang members arrested for carrying guns
QUINCY - Three juvenile gang members from Quincy were arrested for probation violation after they were involved in a shooting.
Police were dispatched to I Street Southeast and Third Avenue Southeast on Saturday at 10:10 p.m. after multiple calls of shots fired were reported, according to a Quincy police on Thursday.
Witnesses said they saw three juvenile males run into a residence located on Third Avenue Southeast. A fourth juvenile male was seen running down an alley way north of the residence.
Officers said they searched the area and found 9 mm casings in front of the residence.
As they were investigating the scene, the homeowners arrived home.
The owners asked police to search the home.
Two Quincy officers entered the home and found two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old inside a bedroom.
Officers found three firearms in the bedroom: a TEC-9 semi-automatic, 9 mm semi-automatic pistol and .38 caliber revolver.
One of the firearms was loaded with ammunition matching the 9 mm shell casings found outside of the residence, according to Quincy police.
The firearms had the serial numbers destroyed, which is a federal crime.
The juveniles claimed to be victims of a shooting that just occurred but did not call police.
All of the juveniles were on active probation at the time of the incident.
The three subjects were arrested and booked into juvenile detention.
The fourth juvenile has not been caught.
Quincy police Detective Sal Mancini said the three juveniles arrested have an extensive gang-related criminal background.
Police said there have been weapon offenses in the area, most of which appear to be gang related.
The most recent gang-related incident in Quincy was in October when 19-year-old Edwin Cesar Davalos died after being shot in a drive-by shooting.
