Both the Cougars and Lady Cougars wrestling teams made short order of their opposition to bring home Dream Dual title wins.

"I believe this is the first time that the men's and women's teams both won the duals," Warden boys head coach Rick Bowers said. "We both had great weekend and enjoyed the competition and being able to watch other programs from around the state from all divisions."

The boys started off proceedings with a dominating 54-18 win over Lake Roosevelt. No results were provided by tournament officials.

They followed up that win with a 59-16 demolition of Mary Walker.

Warden scored 30 points off of five forfeits at 103, 112, 135, 145, and 285 pounds.

J.P. Martinez (119 pounds) secured a 19-4 technical fall win while his Cougars teammate Sam Suarez (140 pounds) earned a first round pin and Hector Camacho (152 pounds) finished off a second round pin victory.

A late third-round pin win was pulled off by Kenny Sullivan (160 pounds), while Gerino Luna (215 pounds) also won via pin, wrapping his match up in the second round.

Warden would wrap up their title with a comprehensive 67-9 win over Tacoma Baptist.

Eight Cougars pins - Javier Tapia (112 pounds, first round), Martinez (second round), Carlos Gomez (125 pounds, second round), Ceaser Espinoza (140 pounds, first round), Camacho (second round), Sullivan (third round), Hugo Rodriguez (171 pounds, third round), and Adam Hansen (189 pounds, first round - and two Tacoma Baptist forfeits were plenty of points for the Cougars.

Henderson earned a 17-5 win and Suarez held on for a 16-10 victory.

As for the girls' victory, the Lady Cougars earned their title with wins over Othello (51-6), White River (48-15), and Rogers (Puyallup)(54-18).

Against Othello, Warden scored 12 points off of Lady Huskies forfeits while securing seven pin wins through the performances of Deianeira Caudle (103 pounds), Melissa Vasquez (112 pounds), Dora Gonzalez (119 pounds), Meixy Gonzales (130 pounds), Taylor Edson (135 pounds), Michelle Gonzales (145 pounds), and Genesis Gonzalez (171 pounds).

Bianca Hernandez (125 pounds) beat Othello's Phelicia Perez 7-2 in the only match to go the distance.

Othello's Allesha Reyes earned a pin win at 140 pounds.

White River lost 18 points on forfeit and Warden would not have to go the distance in any match that hit the mat.

Pins were earned by Vasquez, Hernandez, Miexy Gonzales, Edson, and Michelle Gonzales.

In their final match against Rodgers, the Warden girls earned six-points each from pin victors Caudle, Vasquez, Dora Gonzalez, Miexy Gonzales, Michelle Gonzales, and Marks.
