Othello remains top team in CWAC

ELLENSBURG - Be it home or away the Othello Huskies wrestling team knows one thing: winning.

The Huskies remaining unbeaten in Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) action with a 51-18 win at Ellensburg on Tuesday night.

Othello earned pin wins from Alberto Vargas (189-pounds), Isaac Barrera (103-pounds), Lucas Garza (119-pounds), Eddie Garza (152-pounds), and Stevie Garza (152-pounds).

The Huskies also earned two pin victories while only David Freeman (125-pounds), Matt Jordan (140-pounds), and Amando DeLeon (171-pounds), went the full three rounds.

Freeman won 12-6, while Jordan held on for a 3-2 win over a tough Colby Coates and DeLeon took down the other half of the family winning 3-1 over Tyler Coates.

"We wrestled very well and are starting to pick things up," Othello head coach Ruben Martinez said. "Both Matt and Amando had some tough matches against the Coates brothers and we were able to win both close matches."
