Driver trapped inside her car
Firefighters work to free a woman trapped inside her car Wednesday.
MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake driver was trapped inside her car Wednesday morning after she allegedly ran a stop sign and rolled the vehicle.
Eugenya Babak, 55, Moses Lake, was heading southbound on Road D.5 when she allegedly ran a stop sign and was T-boned by an eastbound SUV traveling on Road 7.8 Northeast, according to Grant County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff Dave Ponozzo.
The impact of the collision caused the 2005 Toyota Corolla that Babak was driving to roll over, said Ponozzo.
The car landed on its top and trapped Babak.
Grant County Fire District 5 firefighters responded to the scene and freed her.
Babak stated she had back and neck pain and reported a cut on her hand, said Ponozzo.
The passenger of the 1997 Ford Explorer, Alanda J. Cavins, 65, Moses Lake, complained of back and neck pain.
Both females were taken to Samaritan Hospital.
The SUV driver William O. Lilies, 76, Kennewick, was not hurt in the collision.
The SUV was pulling a small utility trailer at the time of impact.
Babak will be cited for failing to stop, according to Ponozzo.
Both vehicles were totaled, according to the sheriff's office.
All parties involved were wearing seat belts.
