Covenant church hosts Martin Luther King event

MOSES LAKE - Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, Pastor Gordon Banks will speak during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration Monday.

Covenant Christian Church is hosting the event aimed at promoting togetherness and unity, which is open to community members of all ages.

"We really want to bring the people of Moses Lake and its surrounding areas together," says pastor Jeff Wallace. "We want people to be keeping in mind the reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Junior's 'I Have a Dream' speech."

Pastor Gordon Banks comes to Moses Lake from Overcomer Covenant Church in Federal Way to speak at the event.

"I think it's going to be a great opportunity to come together and get to know each other and to unify Moses Lake," Wallace says. 

The event begins Monday at 6378 Arnold Dr., in the Daystar gym.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event begins at 6 p.m.

Refreshments are available and fellowship time will follow.
