YAKIMA - Now the hard part begins.

Last night, the Moses Lake Chiefs travelled to Yakima with a chance to clinch a co-league championship title in the Big 9.

Mission accomplished times four as the Chiefs rolled to a dominating 4-0 win against Davis High School at Nob Hill Bowl.

"We did it, we're co-league champions," Moses Lake head coach Billy Brice proclaimed. "We did our part we are in. We came out smoking tonight."

The Chiefs (9-2, 6-2) never let up against their hosts and now will await who they will face in the first round of playoff action on Wednesday.

In the first regular game the Chiefs cruised to a devastating 889-616 win.

Shanice Brice led the team with a 235 which included a seven-strike round.

Ashlann Starkweather followed that up with a 186, Crystal Balderas added a 167, and Brittany Ledbetter scored a 159.

Brittany Simpson also rolled a 142 for Moses Lake.

The Chiefs won the second regular game behind a 234 game by Shanice Brice who had only one open frame the entire game.

Balderas rolled a 167, Simpson a 155, and Starkweather finished with a 150.

"Brittany's game felt more like a 195 game than a 155 since she grinded it out," Billy Brice said. "I was very proud of her. Scores like 150s are very competitive."

A final score was not provided.

Moses Lake continued its strong run of play with a 198-145 win in the first baker game.

"We were on fire," Billy Brice said. "I brought some other seniors and they stepped up."

The Chiefs followed that score up with an identical 198 in the second baker game to clinch the sweep.

"Those were the best two baker games we've had on the same night this season," Billy Brice said.

Now the team will hope to take their momentum from their late performances into the postseason.

"We've done our part and the girls are really pumped up because we bowled as a team," Billy Brice said. "Now we hopes this carries on. We have to practice until Wednesday when the bowl off will take place."
