PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: KITTITAS 46, WARDEN 31

KITTITAS - A nice long bus ride from Warden to Kittitas (5-5, 1-2) may have eventually ended vehicularly but not necessarily, mentally.

Failing to come out of the gates fast, the visiting Lady Cougars fell behind 12-3 after the first quarter, 25-11 by halftime, and couldn't get over the hump in a 46-31 Central Washington South 2B loss last night.

"We didn't get off the bus," Warden head coach Todd Kisler said. "We just didn't get going. We were hesitant and took plays off."

Starter Hannah Bisnett recorded eight points and eight rebounds, while Warden (4-6, 1-2) were given strong contributions from substitutes Tawnie Gonzales (eight points, three assists) and Elizabeth Pruneda (seven points).

"I went to the bench, and they stepped up and they did their best," Kisler said. "But by the time they got going it was too late. Those kids may have earned a second look at more playing time."
