MOSES LAKE - A long break from competition showed early on but the Moses Lake Chiefs bowling team found its groove just in time.

On Tuesday night the Chiefs finished their nearly three weeks off the lanes with a 3-1 win over visiting Davis at Lake Bowl.

Moses Lake (8-1, 5-1) started out showing plenty of rust in a 701-684 regular game one loss.

"After that long layoff it showed because we didn't bowl very well," Moses Lake head coach Billy Brice said. "The girls were sluggish and didn't have it. They came out slow and it was kind of embarrassing actually."

Shanice Brice led the Chiefs with a score of 169.

Moses Lake bounced back to take the second regular game, 697-636.

"We were still way down in team average," Billy Brice said.

Shanice Brice rolled a team-high 202 to spark the win.

The win gave the Chiefs the momentum they needed as they cruised to a 178-123 first baker game win and cruised to the victory from there.

"We are going to practice hard and get the dust off of the holiday season," Billy Brice said. "We need to get back into this deal because we are looking good for post season, so we need to think about stepping it up a bit and get back to bowling."
