WILSON CREEK - If momentum can play a key part from one game to the next, Friday night could be an interesting one for the Wilson Creek Lady Devils.

That's because the Lady Devils remained unbeaten in North Central Washington 1B league play with a 57-17 win at Easton last night and are primed to meet Moses Lake Christian Academy on Friday in a showdown for first place.

"It's an important win for us especially with the big game on Friday night," Wilson Creek head coach Charlie Pierce said. "We got a chance to work on our basics and fundamentals and get competition. We are banged up right now and we're not healthy enough but tonight showed we have greatly improved since the beginning of the year."

Wilson Creek (3-5, 3-0) took a while to get warmed up, leading only 6-2 at the end of the first quarter.

But more aggressive play combined with sloppy Easton defense put the hosts into serious foul trouble and Wilson Creek would take advantage.

"In the second quarter they got into foul trouble and we were already in the double bonus," Pierce said. "They would back off and we had an easier time scoring. It worked out good for us to say the least. We also got to play a lot of our subs."

Clarissa Hansen led the Lady Devils with 15 points, Tori Diamond added 13 points, and Holly Wilson finished with 10 points.
