MOSES LAKE — The Seattle Mariners are making a stop in Moses Lake.

The community is invited to meet a few players, broadcaster Rick Rizzs and the Mariner Moose as they answer questions, sign autographs and take pictures with fans of all ages.

“We’ll do question-and-answer at the beginning, then sign autographs. Then people will have an opportunity to have their picture taken with the Moose,” says Sean Grindley, community programs manager with the Mariners.

Pitchers Luke French and Shawn Kelley are the players scheduled to attend the Moses Lake event.

The trip is part of the team’s annual three-week bus tour around the Northwest.

In addition to Moses Lake, the Mariners are visiting Yakima, Spokane, Walla Walla and the Tri-Cities before continuing on to Portland, Ore., and then up toward Canada, says Grindley.

“It’s really a great kids’ event. These kids get so excited that there’s a real Mariner there in front of them,” says Big Bend Community College’s Director of Public Information Autumn Dietrich.

Everyone in attendance will receive an autographed picture and will be eligible to win prizes from the Mariners Team Store as well as tickets to Mariners games.

The free event is Jan. 11, from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. in the ATEC at Big Bend Community College, located at 7662 Chanute St.
