Dol Harding Waggener

Dol Harding Waggener, 86, of Provo, passed away December 26, 2010, in Orem. She was born September 6, 1924, a daughter of Lyman W. and Edith Walker Harding in Twin Falls, ID.

In Sept. 1944 she met Chet Waggener at a university dance in Pocatello, ID. Dol Harding Waggener then enrolled at the Woodbury School of Dol Harding Waggener in Los Angeles, CA, Dol Harding Waggener their relationship continued until Chet went to Washington State University in Pullman, WA, Dol followed him there to attend University of Idaho in Moscow, ID. They were married June 11, 1948 in Moscow, ID, their marriage was solemnized November 28, 1960 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Pullman for several years where they had 3 sons, Kirk, Dana, and Scott. While in Pullman they started golfing together which developed into a life passion, each one becoming accomplished golfers. 

They moved to Moses Lake, WA where they had 3 more children, Kara, Turi, and Kim. While in Moses Lake Dol served in many church callings including Primary chorister, Relief Society and many teaching positions. Dol was a beautiful seamstress and designed many of the clothes she wore, many of which may have been "over the top" all with a matching hat. She was a wonderful cook and was always known for her beautiful desserts. She was a gracious host and loved to entertain. Dol loved belonging to the Moses Lake Country Club which brought on her other passion of playing Bridge. She hosted Bridge Club from Moses Lake, WA to Provo, UT. They spent the majority of their later years in Provo, where she enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren. While in Provo, Dol continued her involvement in church activities and she worked at the Provo LDS Temple for many years.

Survivors include her children, Kirk (Kathy) Waggener of Medford, OR, Dana (Debi) Waggener of Bozeman, MT, Scott Waggener of Provo, UT, Kent (Kara) Darling of Moses Lake, WA, Turi (Allen) Nelson of Yakima, WA, Kim Waggener of Orem, UT, 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 31, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the Pleasantview 4th Ward Chapel, 2900 Timpview Drive (650 E.) in Provo. Friends and family may call Friday one hour prior to the services at the ward chapel. Interment will be in the Eastlawn Memorial Hills Cemetery.
