Shirley Mary Pruitt
Shirley Mary Pruitt, 65, of Moses Lake, died in her home Thursday,
February 17, 2011 with her family all around her. Shirley was born
in Benton, TN to John Wesley and Mary Pearl (Day) Vaughn.
Shirley worked for 13 years as a cook at the Highlander Restaurant
in Kelso, WA. She was a member of the Valley Baptist Church in
Longview, WA until moving to Mardon area. Shirley and her husband
of 49 years, Mack, lived in the Mardon area for about 6 years until
they moved to Moses Lake about 6 years ago. Shirley loved bowling,
baking, cooking, bingo, fishing, and especially Roosters! Her
passion was reading, and her family, she loved to take care of her
family. She is remembered for her work ethic, she could outlast
almost anyone she worked with.
She is survived by her dear husband of 49 years, Mack Pruitt,
children Jimmy Ray Pruitt, both of Moses Lake, WA, Rebecca Sue
(Joseph) George, of Rathdrum, ID, James David Pruitt, of Moses
Lake, WA, and Mary Ann Pruitt, of Spokane, WA, her beloved dogs
Bow, and Bud, who miss her dearly, sisters Glenda Nunley, of
Aumsville, OR, Linda Conley of Tallahassee, Fl, Hazel Soisson of
Salem, OR, and one brother Kenneth Vaughn, of Grand Round, OR; and
9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Jean
Williams, two brothers Jack Vaughn, and J.C. Vaughn.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 25,
2011 in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Kelso, WA.
