| February 22, 2011 5:00 AM

SOAP LAKE - Soap Lake teenager Sheila Rosenberg died Saturday morning after she was ejected from a car that hit a driveway culvert, three miles east of Soap Lake.

The 17-year-old female was in a 2011 silver Pontiac Sunfire heading west on Road 20 Northeast when the car struck a driveway culvert, according to Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at 5:49 a.m.

When the car struck the culvert, Rosenberg and a 17-year-old male, also from Soap Lake, were  ejected from the car. They were reportedly not wearing seat belts at the time of the collision, according to the sheriff's office.

Grant County Coroner's Office concluded Sunday morning Rosenberg died from blunt force trauma to the head.

The office notified the teenager's family Sunday afternoon.

Speed and alcohol are suspected to be factors in the wreck.

The 17-year-old male was initially taken to Samaritan Hospital before being airlifted to Spokane for critical injuries treatment, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies are investigating.
