Quincy driver dies in rollover crash

QUINCY - A Quincy driver died after rolling a car roughly 30 feet off of the roadway Thursday night, three miles east of Quincy.

Luis A. Rodriguez, 18, Quincy, was driving a 1999 Honda Accord eastbound on state Route 28 when the car crossed the westbound lane and into the ditch, according to Washington State Patrol on Friday.

The vehicle rolled several times, coming to a rest on its wheels roughly 30 feet from the roadway, according to state patrol.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car's passenger, Jose D. Mendoza, 18, George, was transported to Quincy Valley Hospital before being airlifted to Central Washington Hospital for reported chest and head injuries.

Mendoza was wearing a seat belt.

It is unknown if Rodriguez was wearing a seat belt.

State patrol is investigating.
