Sherry A. Flowers

Sherry A. Flowers, 74, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at her home in Quincy while surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 8, 1936 to Wilber Floyd and Frieda (Bennett) Rhodes at Toledo, IA. She attended school in Toledo. Sherry married Les Flowers on August 11, 1952 in Reno, NV.

Together they lived in numerous locations in the northwest before they settled in Quincy in 1978. They owned and operated the Marlette Motor Lodge until October 21, 1989 when it was destroyed by a fire. They built S & L Laundry which they operated until she sold the business in 2006. Sherry was also employed as a Lab Technician at Lamb Weston from 1979 - 1995. Les preceded her in death in January 1994.

Sherry is survived by her children, Craig Flowers and Enola Rubio both of Quincy and Susan Baxter of Moses Lake, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, siblings, Garnet Upah, Jaenne Lutter both of Des Moines, IA, Mary Hawes and Carol Koch, Richard Rhodes all Marshalltown, IA, Bennet Rhodes of Bell Plain, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:30 PM. O n Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, Quincy.
