Business picking up for Sagebrush Auto, opened last October
SOAP LAKE - Sagebrush Auto owner Joseph Goe says business is picking up for his used car lot.
"It's not going bad," he said. "It was real slow in November and December. January was pretty good and February is picking up."
Goe and his grandfather, Clayton Goe, opened Sagebrush Auto in October, at 27 Daisy St., in Soap Lake.
The best months of the year for the car business are during tax time, from February through April, when people are expecting or receiving tax returns, he said.
November is the worst month of the year for auto sales, Joseph Goe said.
The business offers a mix of everything, including Ford, Jeep, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Dodge and Jeep.
Customers are looking for a different kind of car, he found.
"Some like a four-door, some like a two-door," he said. "Younger kids like Mitsubishis. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee here older people like."
He opened the lot after an experience gained from car shopping.
"The true story is I didn't like the car I had," he said. "I didn't like the prices. I thought cars were too much."
Joseph Goe says he starts pricing vehicles at a fair amount and will come down slightly.
His goal is to be honest in his business dealings and "not be a shady used car salesman," he said.
"I don't want to be shady," he commented. "That's my biggest thing. I want to be honest."
He has just started to give away 90-day warranties on select cars.
Joseph Goe is a Wilson Creek High School graduate and an area resident since 1994.
He is the bass player for the alternative/grunge/rock band Road 20.
"It's nice knowing a lot of people that way," he said. "If they need help, I can help them out."
His goal is to offer customers an honest and fair price.
"If there's something wrong, I'll tell you and how to fix it," he commented.
