City of Moses Lake Notice of Application and Public Hearing

The City of Moses Lake Parks Department submitted an application

for a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit on January 26,

2011.

The City of Moses Lake Parks Department submitted an application for a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit on January 26, 2011. The application was determined to be substantially complete and ready for review on February 11, 2011. The proposed project location is Lower Peninsula Park, 3519 W. Peninsula Drive, and will consist of installing irrigation and landscaping over 22 acres with a 70-car parking lot, 3 multi-use sports fields, basketball court, nature trail, playground, and 40' x 70' picnic shelter. The existing boat launch and parking area will remain.

The project has been determined to be consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan and the following Development Regulations are applicable to the project: City of Moses Lake Municipal Code Title 18 Zoning, Title 14 Environmental Regulations, and Title 20 Development Review Process; City of Moses Lake Shorelines Management Master Plan.

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing for this project at 7:00 pm, April 14, 2011 in the City Council Chambers located at 411 S. Balsam. All interested parties are encouraged to attend and make comment.

Written comments on the environmental review of this project will be accepted until March 14, 2011. Written comments on other aspects of this proposal will be accepted until the date of the public hearing. In addition, persons who want to be informed of future actions or the final

decision on this proposal should provide their name and address to the project planner listed below.
