Doris Elaine McDaniel

Doris Elaine McDaniel went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday February 1, 2011 at the age of 49  in  Moses Lake.  Her promotion into her Lord's presence was suddenly caused by a pulmonary embolism.  Doris was born on March 31, 1961 in Ashland, Mississippi to Richard and Lucille Rooks. She graduated from Holly Springs High School in 1980 and attended Junior College in Oxford, Mississippi receiving an AA degree.  She was married to David  and moved to Moses Lake in 1998. She was the beloved mother of Sherita, Shavita, David Jr, and Shetekia.

Doris was loved by everyone she met.  A wonderful singer in the church and a person who prayed for everyone.  She was home giver who dearly loved her family.  Doris was a very caring, compassionate, comforting, selfless person.

A memorial and celebration of her life will be held at New Beginnings Christian Center, 318 W Northshore Drive in Moses Lake on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 3:00 PM.

She is survived by her loving family; husband David, their children; Sherita, Shaavita, David Jr. and Shetekia, her mother; Lucille Rooks. Brothers: Joe Ray Rooks,Walter Rooks, Freddie Rooks, Sylvester Rooks, Robert Rooks. Sisters: twin Doral Sharp, and Brenda Stinson.  Preceeding her in death were: father Richard Rooks; brothers and sisters: George Thompson, James Rooks, Clarence Rooks, Milton Rooks, MaryLee Montez, Mattie Rooks and Martha Rooks.  She was also loved by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,  grandchildren, and many, many friends.

Memorials may be made through New Beginnings Christian Center. Arrangements made by Providence Funeral Services in Quincy.

Her spirit will forever be in our hearts this beautiful, elegant lady.
