MOSES LAKE - The Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation is hosting a dinner, dance and auction to raise money for cancer patients in Grant and Adams counties.

The "Country Sweethearts" event will "celebrate life, health, love and companionship" while increasing cancer awareness, celebrating those fighting the disease and raising money for patient services.

"With this fund-raiser, we hope to be able to increase our services to include a wider variety of financial services and more educational and emotional resources for patients," said Kayla Stoker, marketing director at the foundation.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres, free beer and wine tasting, a silent auction and socializing. The silent auction will feature items including wine baskets, jewelry, sausage, gourmet foods and more.

Dinner begins at 7 p.m. and is provided by Michael's on the Lake.

Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy games, raffles and a live auction including gourmet dinner packages, wine tours, paintings and jewelry. Dancing begins at 8:30 p.m.

All the money raised during the event is used locally to help cancer patients and their families.

"Country Sweethearts" is Feb. 5, from 6 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. in the 4-H building at the Grant County Fairgrounds, 3953 Airway Dr.
