Red Rock children sing of the season in winter concert

ROYAL CITY - Before heading off to Christmas vacation recently, the children of Red Rock Elementary School put on concerts for  their parents and the community.

There were two shows  on Dec. 16, one before and one after lunch. It was the 17th year for Red Rock music teacher Sharon Freeman. She and the children were greeted by an estimated 900 parents, family and community members.

The performance included a fifth grade sound effects team led by community member Peg Hoelscher. The members were Jackie Gonzalez, Bailey Callahan, Jovanny Partida and Daisy Niebla.

The kindergarten group performed "Feliz Navidad" and "The Chipmunk Song". The first grade did "Christmas is a Time" and "All I Want for Christmas".

The second grade sand "Star of Wonder" and "O Holy Night". The third grade offered "The Brightest Spot" and "'Twas the Night Before Christmas".

The fourth grade performed "When You Don't" and "Journey." And the fifth grade sang "Christmas Overload" and "A Day in a Manger".
