MOSES LAKE - A reported dispute between brothers ended with one injured with a machete and the other arrested after struggling with police.

Investigators suspect a dispute escalated into an assault at nearly 3 a.m. on Saturday morning at a residence on County Road 16 Northeast, near Moses Lake.

Jesus A. Jimenez, 20, Moses Lake, is suspected of attacking his older brother, Agustin Jimenez, 27, Moses Lake, with a machete, according to Sheriff Tom Jones.

Deputies found Agustin Jimenez with a deep cut on his left arm. He was transported to a hospital and was reported to be recovering, according to Jones.

After the alleged assault, Jesus Jimenez reportedly fled into a field with a rifle and ammunition. The Moses Lake Tactical Response Team was requested to help deputies.

Police were provided permission to search the home and allegedly found Jesus Jimenez inside. Officers arrested him after a brief struggle, said Jones.

No officers were injured, nor was the suspect.

Jesus Jimenez was booked for assault in the first degree-domestic violence.
