WENATCHEE - The Moses Lake girls basketball team suffered a tough loss to Eastmont at the Town Toyota Center Wednesday.

The Chiefs held the lead through the first three quarters of the game, but were outscored 22-6 in the fourth quarter and lost by 12 points.

"I thought the girls played great and are making strides in the right direction," coach Matt Strophy said. "We made some mistakes in the second half of the game and Eastmont capitalized on them. And unfortunately, the shots we were hitting in the first half, weren't falling late when we needed them to."

Despite the loss, Strophy said the team collectively played one of its better games of the season.

"Even though the game was low scoring, we had a balanced effort and that was nice to see," he said. "Sadie Nielsen had a great game and had some key defensive rebounds, and Emily Olson and Courtney Kunjara turned in a great effort too."

The come-from-behind win for the Wildcats was lead by Nikki Gilbert who knocked down 22 points for the Wildcats, including five 3-pointers. Shaeanna Jones added 12 points and 21 rebounds for Eastmont.

Moses Lake is back in action Dec. 29 when the Chiefs travel to Spokane to take on the Ferris Saxons at 5:30 p.m.

"It's the last of our non-conference games," Strophy said. "Then we begin a stretch of 10 league games to finish out the year and get ready for post season play."
