DESERT AIRE  - Grant County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the second drive-by shooting in just over a month at a Desert Aire residence.

On Monday at about 8:20 p.m. deputies on routine patrol near a residence on Thunderbird Way West were able to quickly respond to a 9-1-1 call for shots fired, according to Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.

Witnesses reported five or six adult Hispanic males dressed in black fired shotgun rounds outside the home before fleeing in a dark colored Honda passenger car, Jones stated.

Several adults and children inside the home at the time of the incident were uninjured by the shooting, although shotgun rounds reportedly struck the home and a vehicle parked in front.

This is the same residence targeted by a drive-by shooting Nov. 10, in which two people were hit with shotgun pellets that penetrated a door.

According to investigators, the two individuals hit last month said they were former street gang members.

Investigators at the time found spent shotgun shells in the street in front of the home and sought information on the suspect vehicle, a green Honda passenger car.

Anyone with possible information on the latest shooting is asked to call the Grant County Sheriff's Office at 509-754-2011 ext. 468, or send information to crimetips@co.grant.wa.us. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
